Poem ideas:
Describe a moment of great fatigue, a moment when you were exhausted.
Describe your journey home from school in great detail.
Describe where you go to rest, relax, and recharge after a difficult day.

“A Tired Student”

Sleepy student in the room
Struggle homework without a clue.
Day after day he cries, the paper and pencils
Luxuriant forests are destroyed.

His burning heart is fighting against the pouring rain.
The last will to resist is fading away in front of pressure
He surrenders. He must subject to the rules.
Sitting there exhaustedly, just a tired student, like everyone.

Love it. Great word choice. The strong verbs make the poem: "struggle...cries...burning...fading...surrenders."

“As Work Ends”

Alone a shovel I wield
Walk to bed without being heard
Back facing the wall I stare through the window
The mattress gives way to comfort under me

A tiredness comes upon the bed
My head falls on the pillow as cool as an air conditioned room
I am not grown, or young, “Pole” or “enemy”
Asleep is just a hardworking man, as you

Darkness comes with noise of frogs & crickets
I lie in my warm bed
Dots fill the dark sky
They gleam in my eyes and sparkle on the water

“Fatigue”

As the pain shoots through my body,
The tiredness sets in my tense muscles and body
Looking on but not knowing how much is left,
Feeling your done and finished but no quit yet
Energy drains out of my body after every hit,
And my limbs are harder to function
Trying not to quit and continue,
But feeling and putting in the last bit of energy
Then the point of success and accomplishment,
Taking the lead and learning to live
Today I know that I did not stop fighting,
Because when the sun does, then so will I
Learning to live each day,
Without the thought of ever failing or giving up
Climbing the tallest rock in your way,
And standing on top looking at what I’ve done
I have learned to live in such a way,
As I bring in the pain and life around me.

“Athletes”

Athletes in the gym,
I want to get in.
Playing till they ache,
for we will never break.
We kill till the end of the game.
Our players want the unending fame,
not being selfish to the others,
our team is a resemblance of brothers.
We’re as hungry as bears
and our school name blares.
Across the cities fans scream.
They all want to be part of the team.
But in the end they really are,
because they’ve nurtured us to who we are.

I like the simile "hungry as bears" and it's clever rhyming word "blares". Also, nice job working the word "hungary" into the poem inspired by a Hungary guy, to be shared with Hungary students. :) Is it unfair you are made tired by the gym and the speaker of the poem by work in a factory? Life is better these day some ways. How was it better back then?

“Purity”

The warm sun beating on the rocks
After a day of intense rolls
I cannot do anything else
But enjoy the purified air and sunset.
It seems as though time has paused
Yet the hour hand continues to walk on the clock
That is why we must all take time
To pause time and purify our lives
To take that breath to clear our minds
To cherish the eye of storm.
Keeping calm and pure
Being easy, enjoying the fresh salty ocean air
Knowing what’s coming before it’s even there
The waves will grow
But now they are calm and pure.

“Lucky Day”

Floating on top of the water
with waves flowing through my hair
sometimes disappointed I’m my mother’s daughter
as I’m taking my last breath of air.

Watching the sunset for the last time.
I wonder if I’ll be missed,
do you think find out this crime?
I close my eyes remembering my last kiss.

This is okay, I’ll be fine
I’m stronger than it seems
I try my hardest not to whine
and I try to hold in my screams.

Who knows if I die today
I want to go, but then again I don’t
then I feel someone’s arm’s pulling me out
I guess this is my lucky day.

He takes me and cares for me,
he treats me with love
when I look into his eyes, I know this is meant to be.
I guess it’s not my time to go above.

“Dust”

Unaware dusts in the storm
struggle mess without any rule.
Side by side we fly, another dust and I,
strong winds slumber under my heart.

A peaceful calm is walking on the ground
to find my deepest desire in my mind.
I’m not a thing, or stuff, “part of nature” or “material”.
Flying here is just a tiny dust, like you.

Even I’m the only one got out from the storm,
I never come back, I am too weak.
I moved here to there, to places I’ve never been to.
To find this peace of mind.

It takes more than strength to find my deepest desire in my mind.
I’m a tiny dust rather than nothing.
Flying or lying on mother nature
to pure my dirt.

“Relief”

Wounded soldiers in the chopper
Long to see their loved ones.
As they sit in the ‘copter,
All they think about are their daughters and sons.

While forget the bombs and guns,
And prepare for standard civilization,
They have finally won
And have become an inspiration.

They escape the radiation.
Their experience was beyond belief,
Beyond anyone’s wildest imagination.
But now, finally, they have relief.

“A Day at School”

Waking up after being on spring break
Which I really hate
As tired as can be
It feels like I got up at three

Getting ready for the day
Wanting to be by the bay
As the bus makes the way
Wish I could run away

Arriving at school
Man, this is cruel
First period rolls around
We all need to calm down

I am so excited about lunch
My brain absorbs information like a sponge.
Finally it’s time to go.

“Homebound”

The dreadful day is almost done
I’m ready for some real fun.
The bell just rang
With a real big clang
We’re starting our walk
No one will talk
About the day
Because it may
Take longer to get home
And be alone.
Once I am home
And finally alone
I get into my bed
I feel like I’m dead
I put my mind to rest
I curl up in my nest.
I fall asleep.

“Doing Work”

Working hard every day
Struggling home to lay stray
The walk home is quite a ride
I really wish I could fly

The birds tweet like twitter
And the cold air makes them gitter
The small gross long-tailed critters
Scurry from the snakes that slither

I continue my journey into the night
Following the North Star and its light
And as the birds fly overhead
The river fades and goes dead

My feet get tired and gently weep
So I lie down and fall asleep
In the morning I wake up to see
Another work day in the long week

“Veneir Snezitzle”
(cross between “A Tired Man” & “Ballade” by Francois Villon)

Veneir was a very lonely man
He travelled all over the land
But he never moved at all
Simply because of the war.
The Americans had landed on shore
He killed and loots
But never shoots
He walked out the door but
Sat on the threshold.

He let his emotions go to his head
So he took his pride and went to bed.
When he awoke there was nothing around
Yet he could see so much and hear the sounds.
He got up with fury in his step
A tired man no longer
Now he was able to ponder.

“We Like Sports”

We like sports
While wearing short shorts
Playing on the courts
Looking so fine with our imports
Kicking it at ‘em resorts
We like sports.

We go to school all damn day
Giving us little time to let us play
We have cool friends that come through
That have fly shoes
No one can see our point of view
It’s our pride that shines through
We like sports.

All eyes on us, ‘cause we good as Van Gogh
When it comes to getting’ angry we keep it on the low
I’m allergic to roof shingles.

A soul without meaning,
A man without love,
An ocean with no water,
Land with no trees,

For it is these losses that drain a helpless soul,
Hope is crushed,
Devastation proves dominant,
And evil is now implemented.

“The Storm”

The rain fell heavy
splat
splat
on the hard
cold ground.
The silent cry of whispering winds
broke the harsh silence.
The icy shivers ran down her spine
as happiness dies
rain, wind as the
frightening cries go
far, far
into the fearful night sky.

“A Lively Woman”

hardly workers pulling crops
going on without a halt
side by side, the sand and water
hot under my toes
a deep water in the dark abyss
my stress is at a low
I am a normal woman, I am every women
the morning dumps in the noise
the cold chunk of the blade, that is me
the stars hide from me in the noisy sky
lying on the sand on the dull head

“English Class”

Walk into English
with my bag over my shoulder.
Take a seat like a bolder
and whip out my folder.
I’m like Brandon Bone,
I take out my phone.
When I saw Hubai come my way,
I knew I was gonna pay.
She took my phone from my hand,
and I had a plan.
I needed to go to Hubai,
and give her the puppy dog eyes.
Sitting here, thinking what to say,
I have to get my way
for not doing homework
but now I must travel homeward.
